Getting Ready Warm Weather and my Antique Car
17th March 2009
Vintage car time is coming! That’s right, it’s almost that time of year. Summer is right around the corner. We all need to do the things we’ve been putting off in preparation for the upcoming driving season.
Your local car shows are being planned… be sure to make time to attend all those that you can afford to. The season will go by fast! It’s important to take the time to enjoy yourself while you’re able.
Those of us who live in the north have had our Vintage car sitting safely stored away. Our sports cars and hot rods have been sleeping away the winter months. Now it’s time to wake them up! That means spending sometime getting them ready.
One of the things we shouldn’t forget is to make sure we have adequate vintage car insurance coverage. Vintage cars have special needs when it comes to car insurance. We want to have our babies repaired using original parts and loving attention. Your average Civic-level insurance policy won’t gurantee that level of coverage.
In order to make sure your car is restored it is important to research and select a company that specializes in covering your type of vehicle. There are several companies that are able to cover your car, such as:
- Sneed Insurance
- Hagerty Insurance
- American Collectors Insurance
- CHROME Specialty car insurance
Review their web sites and choose the muscle car insurance company that best fits your needs and budget. For those with more expensive muscle cars it may be necessary to up the premium to make sure you’re covered in the case your car is (gulp) totaled. Make sure you review the terms of the insurance and your rights. Those with Inexpensive cars have more flexibility.
I look forward to the summer and the warm driving season. With the proper preparation it can be a worry-free affair that will be memorable and hopefully uneventful!
